Start with a project
- Open the gallery and choose New Instrument. Give it a name and open it in Edit, or choose one of the eleven template cards to start with a working layout.
- Open Sounds. Choose a built-in Sound and a pitch or named component, then add it to the Canvas. The new Note has a playable region with that sound mapped to it.
- Switch to Test Draft and touch the Note to hear it. Return to Edit to move or resize it.
- Add a few more Notes, or open Elements to add a complete native instrument. Keep the controls you want to play inside the Canvas.
Make the layout yours
The six library destinations are Sounds, Templates, Elements, Text, Uploads, and Tools. Tools includes drawing, Touching Regions, and Canvas backgrounds. Layers helps you select and arrange objects.
An imported picture gets a full-frame Touching Region; choose its sound mapping before playing it. Text, Shapes, Lines, and freehand Artwork are decorative. Add a separate Touching Region if you want one of those areas to play.
Applying an Editor template replaces the active layout in one Undo step. Use a new project when you want to keep your current arrangement.
Test Draft, Publish, and Performance
| Action | What it does |
|---|---|
| Test Draft | Plays the current draft without allowing accidental layout edits. |
| Publish | Validates the active scene and prepares a stable version for Performance. |
| Performance | Plays the prepared published version full screen. Later draft edits do not change it. |
When your design is ready, choose Publish and wait for preparation to finish. Open Performance to play. Mute All stops sounding voices and any notes the app owns on a selected local MIDI destination.
Record captures VMuse Global’s own audio output, and Stop keeps the take on this iPad. It does not record the microphone. Hold the protected exit control to leave Performance.
Keep and reopen your work
The draft autosaves locally. Return to the gallery and open the project again to continue. After making more edits, publish again when you want those edits to become the performance version.
Projects belong to this app installation, not to an account. Signing in on another iPad does not bring them across. People using the same iPad can access its local project library.
For guided practice, open Help & Tutorials in the gallery or Editor. The interactive tutorial has its own practice project and can be resumed or replayed.
